Camera Tripod Mount Adapter
I want to mount my Zoom H4N onto my hotshoe on my Canon 7D. Is there an adapter for hotshoe to 1/4″ – 20 stud?
The H4N will sit on a tripod but I’d like to mount it on top of my camera when the camera is on a tripod. Is there an adapter that will slide into the hotshoe on my camera and provide a 1/4″ – 20 stud (like a tripod) that will screw into the H4N? Thanks
You need to be clearer when you say Zoom H4H. Is it this?
H4n – Handy Recorder or something else?
To the question is there an adapter from hot shoe to 1/4″ 20 stud, no. Perhaps the most compelling reason is hot shoes may not be able to handle any device that might be attached to such an adapter
While the H4n – Handy Recorder weighs about the same as a good external flash it has a better chance of being bumped (at least at the rear of the camera which can put some strain on the flash shoe it was never designed to survive.
My guess is you may have to fabricate such an adapter if you want to use the H4n in such a manner
